"The most dangerous thing you can do in life is to play it safe,"-Casey Neistat. It was my second day in Langkawi, and I was going to the world-famous Langkawi Skycab- the world's steepest cable car. So I'll be honest, I'm terribly afraid of heights, especially when the altitudes start to cross 10 meters in height.

I was tense. Absolutely tense. I have the option to overcome my fear. As always, I was about to take the easy way out, but this time didn't. I'd honestly shocked myself, boarding the cable car confidently. All of that went through the window as soon as we started. I'd made the rookie mistake of trying to overcome acrophobia. I forgot to follow the golden rule "Don't look down." I looked down and hyperventilated!
At that altitude, I saw a picturesque scene. A lush green rainforest for kilometers, and then a deep blue ocean as far as the eye could see. I also saw from the perspective of my fear, a deep drop below. However, after a few minutes, I was calm and collected. Looking back, I don't know exactly what came over me at that height but I'm shocked that I was that serene. Never, even in my wildest dreams had it ever occurred to me that I'd overcome my fear of heights someday. That day happened to be on this day. After a short period of 5 minutes, we arrived at the top of the mountain. This place was called "Middle Station". There was a photo prop as soon as we got out of the cab. We headed immediately to the lookout point. From there we could see off on one side into the interior of Langkawi. What a sight! If this isn't a breathtaking view, then what is? That's when I knew the views had struck a chord with me. We got back on the SkyCab and headed over to "Top Station". Next stop, Langkawi SkyBridge.
As soon as we got off the SkyCab, a few stairs led us higher up onto the mountains. At that point, we were at cloud level. After taking in the scenery we headed down over to the SkyCab station. There was a thing called SkyGlide, a little glass box-like thing that slid on a single rail down to the SkyBridge lower down. The SkyBridge was a partial glass bridge connecting the main area to another mountain. It left you suspended over a deep, green, majestic valley quite literally. The SkyBridge is one of the world's longest free-span and curved suspension bridges. It felt as if you were going for a walk in the sky. The view from up there is something that cannot be put into words. It's best to experience it yourself. But I'll try to put it in words. Below you could see a virtually endless drop into the deepest valley I had ever seen. To the front, I could see the majestically magnificent blue sea covered by incessant fog. Beside me, on either side, were two, vibrant, immense, lush green mountains. I took a deep breath of the refreshing air and felt ecstatic. After an hour passed we knew it was time to go, so we boarded the SkyCab and descended directly down to "Bottom Station"
We boarded the SkyCab to descend to the Oriental village. This was an area full of shops, restaurants, and attractions. In a way, it was like a shopping mall, but all while looking like a village. We wanted to check out some attractions. First, I saw the museum of 3D art, called 3D Art Langkawi. The art there was spectacular. Next, we saw the SkyRex. It was like a Dinosaur-themed ride. The ride was short but good. I enjoyed them fully. Afterward, we went to a restaurant and ate.
Langkawi's SkyCab and SkyBridge are attractions that have proved to be stunning. I highly recommend visiting them but be careful, because it was still light jacket temperature even in Summer. As always, post a comment and share if you like it! Langkawi has been an impeccable experience so far. I hope you stop over there soon. I wonder what the next days hold...
